One pre-configured kit rarely fits every job. The 4.2m Backdrop Stand Kit is built differently: you choose the crossbar width, base plate size, and drape to match the setup you're actually running.

The telescopic aluminium upright poles adjust from 1.85m to 4.2m, so the frame fits a compact photography studio or a full-height stage backdrop without modification. The steel base plates offer multiple pole mounting positions, letting you centre the pole on the base or position it at the edge depending on the floor layout. All draping options are fire safety tested, making the kit suitable for venues with compliance requirements for soft furnishings and event dressing.

The system is designed to grow. Additional base plates, poles and crossbars are available to extend the setup into corner backdrops, multi-section builds, or larger freestanding enclosures. Adjustable Crossbar

Three width ranges to choose from, each with preset click-in positions along the range. Width sets independently of pole height.

Steel Base Plates

Two sizes: 450x450mm, and 600x600mm. Centre or edge pole placement to suit your floor layout.

What's included in the 4.2m Backdrop Stand Kit with Draping?

The kit includes 2x telescopic aluminium upright poles (adjustable 1.85m to 4.2m), your selected crossbar (telescopic, adjustable within the chosen width range), 2x steel base plates in your selected size, and your selected drape (4.25m height). All connection hardware for assembly is included. A Phillips head screwdriver is required to secure the bolt and spigot into the base plate (not included).

Can I expand the backdrop stand system to a wider backdrop?

Yes. Additional poles and crossbars are available separately to build wider setups, corner configurations, or multi-section backdrops.

How stable is the frame at full height?

Stability depends on the base plate size you choose. The 600x600mm base plates provide maximum stability for tall setups and busy venues. For any application near the 4.2m pole height, use the largest base plate option available.

What's the difference between the 300gsm and 800gsm drapes?

Weight. The 300gsm is a lighter fabric that allows some light to pass through, so it reads as a deep black backdrop but isn't fully opaque. The 800gsm is a heavier velvet that blocks almost all light, giving you a near-blackout result. If you're unsure which one you need, the question to ask is: will there be light sources behind or around this draping during your event?

Are the drapes fire safety tested?

Yes. All backdrop drape options (black 300gsm, black 800gsm velvet, white 300gsm, and burgundy 300gsm) are fire safety tested, making the kit suitable for venues with compliance requirements for soft furnishings and event dressing.

What's the maximum height of the 4.2m Backdrop Stand Kit with Draping?

The telescopic poles extend to 4.2m. The drape is 4.25m in length, so they reach the ground at maximum pole height.

Can I use this backdrop stand outdoors?

The stand is suited to indoor use and temporary covered outdoor setups. The poles and base plates are not weatherproof, so permanent outdoor installation or exposure to rain is not recommended.

What warranty applies to backdrop stands?
